History of Marg’s Highland Dance Wear Inc.

Marg has been meeting the dance supply needs of highland dancers in Alberta for over 22 years and over the past 10 years has aggressively expanded to service all of Canada, the United States and the world via the Internet. Marg has extensive knowledge of highland dancing from her experience as a parent to the Johnson dancing family and even her own highland dancing days in Bow Hill, Scotland. Two of Marg’s children were champion highland dancers, both are members of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, and they ran a successful dance school in Calgary, Alberta where they coached local, national, and international championship winners.

Marg is a life member of both the Calgary and Alberta Highland Dancing Associations where she spent over twenty years as a volunteer and holder of several executive office positions. Upon the receipt of her life memberships in the Alberta and Calgary Highland Dancing Associations she was commended for "her commitment to providing Alberta dancers with quality and affordable Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing regulation costumes". Marg’s costumes meet all current Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing regulations and she keeps up with these regulations through her active participation in highland dancing associations and relationships with highland dancing professionals around the world. Many champion dancers wear costumes, plaids, and shoes supplied by Marg and she prides herself on both her affordable prices and quality products.
